Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I qualify for home care services?

Eligibility depends on the program. For Michigan Home Help, you typically need to be on Medicaid and require assistance with daily living activities. For MCCMH and OCHN programs, eligibility is based on developmental disability or mental health needs. Contact us for a free assessment—we'll help determine which programs you may qualify for.

What services do your caregivers provide?

Our caregivers assist with personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing), meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation to appointments, companionship, and community integration. Services are tailored to each individual's care plan and needs.

How quickly can services begin?

Once eligibility is confirmed and a care plan is in place, we can often begin services within a few days. The timeline varies depending on the program and approval process. We work diligently to match you with a compatible caregiver as quickly as possible.

Can I choose my caregiver?

Yes! We believe the caregiver-client relationship is essential. We carefully match caregivers based on skills, personality, and preferences. If you have a family member or friend you'd like as your caregiver, many programs allow this—we can help them through the enrollment process.

What areas do you serve?

We serve a 7-county region in Southeast Michigan: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Livingston, Monroe, and St. Clair counties. Some programs may have specific county restrictions—use our "Find Your Program" tool above to see coverage details.

Is there any cost to the client or family?

For most of our programs, services are covered through Medicaid, Medicare, or waiver programs at no cost to the client. We work directly with insurance providers and can help you understand your coverage. Private pay options are also available.

How are your caregivers screened and trained?

All caregivers undergo comprehensive background checks, reference verification, and skills assessments. They receive training in personal care, safety protocols, and specialized care techniques. We maintain ongoing supervision and provide continuing education to ensure quality care.

Do you provide services for children?

Yes! Through our contracts with OCHN and MCCMH, we provide Community Living Support and Respite Care for children with developmental disabilities. Our pediatric caregivers are specially trained to work with young people and their families.
